The Austin Review is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit literary journal that draws inspiration from the flourishing art scene of Austin, Texas. Our mission is to promote contemporary literature, contribute to literary arts in Austin, and foster the development of writers by publishing creative nonfiction, fiction, and essays.

In our print journal, we publish flash, creative nonfiction, short stories, and essays. To express our gratitude and support for our namesake city, The Austin Review reserves one spot in each issue for the extraordinary voices coming out of the Austin literary scene. One piece from each issue will be available for free on our website.

Our online literary journal, Spotlight, includes fiction and nonfiction pieces selected from our submissions.

Our blog includes announcements, interviews, reviews, and other works, and we maintain a calendar of Central Texas literary events. We also encourage you to follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheAustinReview, on Twitter @theausreview, and on Instagram @theaustinreview.
