We can't wait to share Issue 2. See you there!

Introducing the Digital Version of Issue 1

We love the print version of Issue 1. It was made here in Austin by The Whitley Group in a small (5x7) format on high-quality paper, with careful attention to layout and design. It's easy to throw in a backpack or purse and is sure to attract the attention of people who see you reading it.

We also know that some of you like the convenience of e-readers, and we don't want to lose your support. So, we have formatted Issue 1 digitally for the Kindle and now offer it for sale through Amazon.com for $6.99 via the link below.

You be the judge whether pixels can beat paper: either way, thank you for reading!

It’s set. The first edition of The Austin Review will be available on January 11, 2014. That evening, we plan to celebrate with a grand launch party held at the LIVESTRONG Foundation’s office at 2201 East Sixth Street from 6-9pm.

Everyone is invited, and we hope this will be an ideal opportunity to bring the Austin literary community together. The event will include issues for sale, readings by several of our authors including Austin’s own Derrick Brown, and complimentary drinks and appetizers.

Stay tuned for updates as the event nears, including information about our after party!

Our primary focus is to ensure that our print and electronic issues of The Austin Review are packed with the best work around. Our first issue is scheduled for release in January, 2014, and we are already excited about what it will contain.

We see this blog as a great place to share everything else: reviews, interviews, literary news, and events taking place in Austin and across the country. If you've got an idea for a story, pitch us--you'll find all of the details on our Submit page.

Happy reading,
The Austin Review Staff
