Now in its fifth year, the New Fiction Confab invites several of the most notable authors to publish new work in 2013 and 2014 to spend a day in Austin’s libraries leading writing workshops, reading their work. and engaging in conversations that allow the community to discuss current literary fiction with critically acclaimed authors whose work is shaping the future of American literature. The Confab is one of the Library Foundation’s largest literary programs, spotlighting the finest fiction on bookshelves today, and the authors who bring these novels and stories to life.
This year the Confab features seven authors: Daniel Alarcón (At Night We Walk in Circles), Molly Antopol (The UnAmericans), Anthony Marra (A Constellation of Vital Phenomena), Merritt Tierce (Love Me Back), and Austin writers, Bill Cotter (The Parallel Apartments), Elizabeth McCracken (Thunderstruck & Other Stories), and Mary Miller (The Last Days of California).
Once again this year, the event will feature the Austin Lit Fair, a gathering of local publishers who will be on hand to discuss their contributions to the local literary scene.
