From Austin Bat Cave's official press release (visit their site for details):
On Tuesday, September 16th, 2014, come hear the live storytelling magic of Stephanie Noll, Richard Santos, Jay Reynolds, and Jordan Geiger of Hospital Ships. They will each tell a story based on “Magic!”
Ten dollars at the door, all proceeds support the free writing workshops for kids of Austin Bat Cave. Hosted at Home Slice Pizza at 8pm, arrive early to save a table. All beer and wine sales go to fund the free writing programs of Austin Bat Cave. And there will be raffle!
Austin Bat Cave (ABC) is a nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas that provides in-school, after-school, and summer writing instruction to students ages 6–18. We offer all sorts of writing programs, from those that are sorely needed--such as tutoring and academic essay assistance--to those that provide kids with creative outlets and avenues for exploration, such as songwriting, screenwriting, and poetry workshops. All of our programs are highly tailored to the schools we work with and the students we serve.
Since ABC was founded in 2007, our mission has been to provide students with creative and expository writing skills, thereby enabling them to communicate more effectively and find their unique voices. In order to reach students who will benefit from our services, ABC relies on a committed, highly qualified team of volunteer instructors who offer children valuable one-on-one attention. All of our programs are free for students.
