TRACY MANASTER
You Could Be Home by Now

and

ERNIE WOOD
One Red Thread

Join us this evening as two accomplished writers share their new novels with us. Their stories explore themes of fate, family, memory, grief and class.

Tracy Manaster is a graduate of Wesleyan University and The Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She was the 2006 recipient of the National League of American Pen Women’s Joanna Catherine Scott prize for novel excerpt. Her nonfiction has appeared in Iagora and Moxie magazines and as interactive exhibit texts for The Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and twin daughters.

Ernie Wood is an award-winning writer of non-fiction books, documentary film scripts, newspaper and magazine journalism, and advertising. Like his protagonist Eddy McBride, he has followed architecture as a longtime passion, pursuing graduate coursework in the field and writing widely on the subject, including a university press-published history supported by a research and writing grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Other non-fiction books on a range of topics have included a best-seller on the Dallas Cowboys. Ernie was raised in North Carolina, received his AB in English from Hamilton College in New York and now lives in Austin, Texas. One Red Thread is his first novel.
