Please join us for Fun Party with poets Desiree Morales, John Mortara and Sam Sax. Doors at 7:30, reading at 8pm. Hope to see you there!

Desiree Morales is a poet and educator from Southern California. Her work has appeared in letterpress projects from Lettre Sauvage and Float Press, and more recently, as part of the I35 Creativity Corridor project in Truck. Here in Austin she oversees afterschool and summer programs as an administrator for the school district.

john mortara is a witchy queer, sad unicorn, moon bridge from New Jersey. john mortara was assembled out of bikes and bagels and anxiety and punk rock and too many episodes of Carl Sagan's Cosmos. they are the author of small creatures / wide field, founder of, and their debut full-length poetry collection some planet is now available from YesYes Books. john mortara is winner of the 1992 Kindergarten Food Race at Veteran's Memorial Park in Pearl River, NY and a proud recipient of mail. john mortara is poet laureate of FEELING VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. more info at

sam sax is a 2015 NEA Fellow and a Poetry Fellow at The Michener Center for Writers where he serves as the Editor-In-Chief for Bat City Review. He's the author of the chapbooks, A Guide to Undressing Your Monsters (Button Poetry, 2014) + sad boy / detective (Winner of the Black Lawrence's 2014 Black River Chapbook Prize). His poems are forthcoming in Boston Review, Minnesota Review, Ninth Letter, Poetry, Salt Hill + other journals.
