What of the Children: Writing About Childhood
Terrazas Branch Library
Pablo Neruda probably had it right when he said, "Everything is ceremony in the wild garden of childhood." Back when life was fresher, nearly everything we came into contact with was new and exciting. Precious moments were bountiful — everything from birthday parties to first kisses, from apricot pie to those earliest heartaches and squabbles, felt with a magnitude often lost in the bustle and vastness of adulthood. In this workshop with local poet Tyler Gobble, we head back to the waters of our youth to frolic, (re)exploring the little rituals we've outgrown, and the situations pressed upon us that stay with us still today.
